Sounds like a decent bloke in my humble. I've been to a few of the events, signed up for the pod cast thing, been some really good content. Interviews with ex players been really good.

No one is forced to pay a fiver a month (the cost of a pint) for the Patreon content.
You get 3 podcasts a week (incl one with Martin Allen and one with an ex player) plus a fair bit of other content and you get a fiver off the cost of the pre match event too if you choose to attend.
You know nothing about Ex’s personal circumstances which are very difficult at the moment so try to be a bit more understanding rather than shooting your mouth off.
He and Dave provide a service, which you can either pay for or not. I really don’t see your problem with him.

You're bang on there about me knowing nothing about his personal life. Why the fuck would I want to know what he gets up to in his personal life?!
I suppose if I was that much in love with him (which his supporters seem to be based on all the backslapping he RETWEETS) and wanted to know, then I'd probably part with a fiver a the month, plus I'd know what the team is 5 mins before it's officially released.

The patreon is voluntary and provides entertainment and information to those who want it for just over a quid a week.
It’s far more than some early team news. You clearly don’t have a clue about the content so for you to suggest he’s ripping people off is totally ill informed.
You need to be a bit less judgmental without knowing the full facts IMO

Simple reality in all of this is West Ham is an industry, West Ham fans a market, and if what you produce has value people will pay for it.
Ex selling what he does is no different to a match day scarf seller, badge seller, unofficial programme seller, the Rib Man, or anyone else that sells product to West Ham fans.
If the product is good and relevant fans will buy it. If it's of no interest or poor quality, fans won't. There is no obligation. EX is just a modern day unofficial West Ham programme seller.
Weird that people get so upset about essentially a business man selling a product that they make, especially the idea that a West Ham fan shouldn't sell West Ham products. Very weird.

Couldn't care less about the fella either way, but is it only on here that he gets slated by some, because if so then that would be very typical of this site. Does he get slated on other fans sites or from fans in the street, at games, etc? I suspect not.
I really don't see how it can be a rip-off when subscribers get exactly what they pay for, and it's completely up to them if the pay it?
Programmes are a rip-off, which is why I'd never buy one, but some choose to.
